About Us
Our Mission
The Community Interest Group provides a scholarly forum for exploring and integrating the diverse aspects of the community concept.
Profile
We are rural sociologists who believe that the community concept plays a pivotal role in the discipline of sociology. We see community as one of sociology's most basic concepts and as such community can never be truly be removed from the sociological endeavor. Currently, efforts among sociologists to creatively explore community have increased. We hope that the activities of the RSS Community Interest Group will provide a forum for exploring and integrating the diversity of community outlooks.
